I use it as a standalone in office treatment, as part of my IPL package, and as part of my demodex eradication protocol. This has enabled me to provide better care for my patients, and has resulted in much better outcomes.
Further, I have had many patients tell me that the treatment felt so good, both during and after, that they wanted to buy devices for at home use. I was not planning on stocking them to sell, but patient demand convinced me otherwise. My total average revenue per exam for the past year has increased by 10.2%, and NuLIDS is a big reason for that. I am still learning more ways to utilize NuLIDSin my practice, and I expect even more growth this next year!

Patients love how their eyes feel afterwards and technicians love how easy it is to perform. Offering NuLIDS PRO as an eyelid hygiene treatment to not only our dry eye patients, but also our patients coming in for their annual exam was an easy decision to make. Our patients love NuLIDS PRO!

I've had remarkable support from the company itself. As a small business owner, this means a lot to me.

Our practice has fully embraced advanced treatments for MGD and blepharitis, including BlephEx, Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT), Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), Radio Frequency (RF), as well as eyelid hygiene, artificial tears, at-home therapies, and supplements.
I’m especially excited to offer the NuLIDS procedure to our patients. It’s not only comfortable and highly effective but also easy for our staff to perform. Patients appreciate the comfort, and the affordable disposables make it a practical option for ongoing care.
We are having great success offering it to our clients on same day as their vision exam, if we uncover Demodex during the exam and are also finding it to be a great addition to our patients already undergoing in-office MGD treatments such as LLLT and RF.Thank you, NuLIDS, for bringing this innovative solution to market!

NuLIDS is easily and comfortably used on closed eyelids. NuLIDS’ unique dual mechanism of action liquifies accreted meibum without the need for heat. NuLIDS removes debrisfrom the lids and eyelash margins thereby reducing inflammation. A multi-center clinical study showed regular use of NuLIDS resulted in significant improvement in the number of Meibomian Glands yielding clear liquids, tearfilm breakup time, sicca staining score, (other clinical signs) and OSDI scores.
Universities, KOL’s, and general Optometric practices report using NuLIDS for the following:
There are no known side effects associated with using NuLIDS. However, out of precaution, NuLIDS should not be used within the 60-day period following intraocular surgery or significant corneal surgeries such as LASIK, DSEK or DMEK.
Yes. The device is specifically designed to be very easy and safe to use in the hands of any technician.
Yes. Treating children is dependent predominantly on the individual child’s willingness to undergo treatment.
Most doctors charge between $50 and $150 for a stand-alone NuLIDS PRO treatment. When NuLIDS is used in conjunction with other treatments to increase effectiveness and prolong therapeutic effect, most doctors add a charge that is slightly less than that which they charge for the stand-alone procedure. There is no specific reimbursement code for NuLIDS and is predominantly an “out of pocket” treatment. NuLIDS is accepted for HSA/FSA.
Most doctors find that this is patient dependent. Many reappoint the patient in 90 days then adjust follow-up treatments according to the patient’s symptoms and recurrence of clinical signs.
